Cavs expected to sign Kevin Jones today

Undrafted free agent Kevin Jones will finally sign with the Cavaliers on Monday, agent Bill Neff told HoopsHype. Jones, a 6-foot-8 "stretch 4" out of West Virginia, will get a partially guaranteed deal.

"The Cavaliers hung with Kevin during his (foot) injury, which is great," Neff said. "The injury set him back during the workout process. He is healthy now."

Neff said earlier in the summer Jones had a bone bruise in his ankle. He was invited to summer league, but was unable to play because of the injury.
Jones averaged 19.9 points and 10.0 rebounds in his senior year with the Mountaineers and was named to the All-Big East first team.

Assuming the Cavaliers sign Alonzo Gee and Jones, that will leave them at 18 players heading into training camp.

The Cavs have made no announcement on media day, but apparently it will be on Monday, Oct. 1.

Here's a quick look at their roster (expected starters mentioned first):

Point guard (3) - Kyrie Irving, Jeremy Pargo, Donald Sloan

Shooting guard (3) - Dion Waiters, Boobie Gibson, Kelenna Azubuike

Small forward (4) - Alonzo Gee, C.J. Miles, Omri Casspi, Luke Walton

Power forward (5) - Tristan Thompson, Samardo Samuels, Jon Leuer, Luke Harangody, Kevin Jones

Center (3) - Anderson Varejao, Tyler Zeller, Eric Micheal
