The Toronto Star reported that Team USA executive director Jerry Colangelo has backed off.

His comment that players who skip this summer's World Championships in Turkey might get left off the 2012 Olympic team didn't go over well with Cavs forward LeBron James.

James was quite miffed by Colangelo's comment.

Colangelo, quoted by the Star after the Basketball Hall of Fame class was announced on Monday in Indianapolis, said the committee must be "flexible" in such matters. That was a stark contrast to what he said last week.

James will be a free agent this summer and also star in a motion picture.
