Game 3: Cavs at Bucks

MILWAUKEE BUCKS (2-0) 105, CLEVELAND CAVALIERS (1-2) 102
BMO Harris Bradley Center
Saturday
Radio/TV: WTAM (1100 AM)/Fox Sports Ohio

WHAT HAPPENED: It was a wildly entertaining game.

Unfortunately, the Cavs came up short. They put the ball in Kyrie Irving's hands and scored 13 of his team-high 27 points in the fourth quarter. He scored on a driving layup with :00.7 remaining in the game.

Bucks guard Brandon Jennings hit the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.

The Cavs played with high energy. It was the first game of their long six-game, 11-day road trip. Hopefully for the Cavs, things don't deteriorate on the trip.

Center Anderson Varejao was the best player on the court for much of the game. He ended with 20 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.

Forward Alonzo Gee had his best game of the season on Saturday with 18 points, six assists and two steals. It's about time, too, since the Cavs have been getting nothing out of their small forward position.

C.J. Miles has been the biggest disappointment of the early season. He's shooting 18.2 percent from the field in the first three games (4 of 22). He's also averaging 3.2 points. Really? He looked like a solid scorer in the preseason, one Coach Byron Scott could count on.

He was 0 of 6 from the field on Saturday with four personal fouls, three turnovers and no points. If Scott had any options, he'd take one. The only other way to go would be to play Omri Casspi.

Bucks forward Mike Dunleavy led all scorers with 29 points, 12 rebounds and six assist. He was unbelievable. The Cavs couldn't defend him.

The Bucks have a track record of being successful in home openers. They are now 33-12 in home openers (.730). The Cavs have lost eight in a row to Milwaukee, including the last six on the road. They haven't beaten the Bucks since Nov. 4, 2010.

UP NEXT: The Cavs travel to Los Angeles to face the Clippers at 10:30 p.m. Monday at Staples Center.
