Charge conducts first draft

The Canton Charge conducted their first D-League draft on Thursday:

1st round (15 overall) Tyrell Biggs, F, Pitt
4 (49) T.J. Campbell, G, Portland
5 (78) Tyrone Kent, G/F, Toledo
6 (81) Travis Franklin, F, Colorado State
8 (113) Jonathan Blake, F, Texas Wesleyan

Biggs, a 6-foot-8 forward, split last season between Cyprus and the Israeli Premier League.

"It was a great night for us," Charge coach Alex Jensen said. "We accomplished what we set out to do tonight. We are happy with our picks and feel we have a group of hard workers who have a chance to show us that on the court when training camp starts next week."

Final 10-man opening day rosters must be set by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23. The Charge opens their inaugural season on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Canton Memorial Civic Center against the defending champion Iowa Energy.
